Squid in Chili Bean Paste

Ingredients

  • 500g squid, cleaned and cut into thick rings

  • 3 tbsp bean paste (Taucu)

  • 1 onion, chopped finely

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped finely

  • 2 red chilies, chopped finely

  • 2 green chilies, chopped finely

  • 1 tsp tamarind paste

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • ¼ cup MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk

  • ½ cup water

  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat 3 tbsp oil, sauté bean paste, onion and garlic till fragrant. Add in red and green chili, tamarind paste, sugar and water.

  2. Bring it to a boil, then add in squid and MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk. Once squid changes color, season it with salt and turn off heat.

Chef's Tip:

Avoid overcooking squid as it will turn tough.
