Coffee-Flavoured French Toast

Ingredients

  • 6 thick slices bread

  • 4 large eggs

  • 150ml MARIGOLD Evaporated Full Cream Milk

  • 1 tbsp coffee essence

  • 1 tbsp fine sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • Butter (to fry bread)

  • Honey or maple syrup and fresh fruits

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.

  2. Beat together eggs, MARIGOLD Evaporated Full Cream Milk, coffee essence, sugar and salt.

  3. Heat a non-stick pan with butter over medium heat.

  4. Dunk each slice of bread in the egg mixture for 1 minute on each side and pan-fry until lightly golden on both sides.

  5. Transfer to a baking tray and bake until puffed for 6 to 7 minutes.

  6. Remove to a serving plate and drizzle with honey or maple syrup and fresh fruits on the side.

Chef's Tip:

For variation, add some grated cheese on top of bread before baking.
